AV Peer Review Rated Lawyer Icon

Chris Hoyme received his undergraduate degree with honors from St. Olaf College in 1981, and his law degree with honors from the University of Mississippi in 1984. Chris leads the firm's nationwide employment litigation practice, defending all types of employment claims including discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge and contract.  Chris also handles labor‑related injunctions, strike‑related litigation and arbitrations.  Chris has successfully defended employers in federal and state courts in 38 states.  Chris has received an "AV" rating by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, the highest rating awarded by Martindale-Hubbell.  Chris is also listed in the Chambers USA Client's Guide to America's Leading Lawyers for Business, and is named in the "Outstanding Lawyers of America."  Chris is licensed to practice in state and federal courts nationwide, as well as the United States Supreme Court.

Chris looks for practical solutions for clients facing lawsuits. Chris believes in a proactive, preventive approach to dealing with employment issues so that clients are placed in the best possible position to avoid lawsuits before they are filed. However, once a client is faced with defending a lawsuit, Chris' successful approach is to respond quickly and aggressively, making him a formidable opponent in the courtroom.

Chris is a member of the Transportation Lawyers Association, Defense Research Institute, the Labor and Employment Section of the American Bar Association, Secretary and Executive Committee Member of the Labor Employment Section of the Nebraska Bar, and the Nebraska Defense Lawyers Association. Chris is a frequent lecturer at seminars throughout the country in all areas of traditional labor, employment and human resources law. Additionally, he has developed and regularly presents management training seminars that take a preventative approach to litigation.
